How do I know if APEX is a good fit for what I need?

APEX has created a simple process flow that allows our customers’ technical visions to come to fruition through our design + manufacture process. From the first call to the delivery of your specialty vehicle, our entire staff has been assembled to make the experience first class.

A typical APEX customer has:

  • 30-90 day delivery timeline
  • technical scope for their project
  • build budget starting at $100K (not including platform)
  • quality minded
What types of vehicles do you build?

Our list is expansive and non-exclusive; if you can dream it, we can likely build it. Some of the different projects we’ve worked on include trucks, trailers, Airstreams, and (Shipping) Containers.

Check out our Portfolio to view some of recently completed builds.

What does the process look like?

APEX has evolved into a Design + Build Specialty Vehicle Manufacturer. What does this mean? Well, if you were going to build out a brick and mortar concept you would approach an architect and engineer, along with a general contractor. Then you would have all of the informtion needed to make a decision and ultimately build your structure. APEX is the architect, engineer and general contractor all in one.

A dedicated account manager will be with you every step of the process, from initial consult to designing, building and completion. Download our Free Guide to get an insider look at our process.

How much will this cost?

Depending on size, complexity and technology, starting at $100K and up, not including the platform.

What are the payment terms?

Typically we ask for a 50% deposit, 25% progress payment and the last 25% at project completion.

How much does the design retainer cost?

To engage our design team the APEX Account Executive will guage the complexity of your project, however you can expect to spend $3500-$4500 for traditional technical designs and $5000+ for more complex project scopes.

What do I receive if I move forward with the Design Retainer?

The Design Retainer is the first step that engages our Design Team with the client to pull technical information to prepare the Scope of Work, 3D Design Concepts, Build Price and Platform Price.

Why can't you just give me a quick price quote?

If you were going to build a new brick and mortar concept you would not take a simple equipment list and floor plan and drive forward with your build; you would need engineers, architects, etc. The same is true with the specialty vehicle industry; because of the team of people it takes to bring each build to life, we require a lot more information, design and planning alongside you in order to give you the most accurate cost estimate.

How long does it take for APEX to deliver a Specialty Vehicle?

APEX manufactures under a flex-schedule which adjusts our production thruput based on its backlog. Our clients are very specific on launch dates. During the design process you will be assigned a delivery target date that will follow you through the decision-making process, and once a build is executed you can expect delivery within 6-8 weeks depending on project complexity.

Does APEX have units available now?

APEX stocks an inventory of custo/designed and built concepts for quick sale. Some of our inventory can be found here, or you can contact an APEX Account Executive to see what inventory is on the ground ready for delivery.

What kind of warranty does APEX offer?

APEX offers a 5 year craftsmanship warranty on every build.

Can we rebrand or refresh an existing unit or do we have to start new?

We can work with you to rebrand or refresh an existing unit, or we can start from scratch. We also have used vehicles on hand we can start with, if that’s the direction you want to go.

Where does APEX source their platforms?

APEX manufactures all trailers that are 16′-49′ from the ground up in Kansas City, Missouri. 50’+ trailers are sourced from various manufacturers. If a truck is what you are looking for we have you covered with both new and pre-owned truck solutions from our sister company, MAG Truck Sales. If your project has a unique platform, we will search and source any platform to meet the customer needs.
